This section governs the handling of drug returns within facilities operated or licensed under Alabama's Department of Mental Health, Division of Mental Retardation (now IDD). It prohibits licensed pharmacists or pharmacies from accepting unused dispensed prescriptions for refund or any other purpose, and requires staff to contact the Coordinator of the Indigent Drug Program before returning drugs to pharmaceutical companies or prime vendors.
