Jurisdiction: AL Agency: Alabama Department of Mental Health
CMHC (60%) OUTPATIENT (60%)
Plain-English summary

This regulation governs the duration of Certificates of Compliance issued by the Alabama Department of Mental Health (DMH/MR) to mental health service providers. A certificate may be issued for one or two years depending on the degree of compliance found during a site visit; a two-year certificate is awarded for substantial compliance, while a one-year certificate may be issued when deficiencies exist or certain organizational changes have occurred. Facility operators must be aware that board membership changes, leadership turnover, funding shifts, service modifications, or prior conditional certification can all trigger a shorter certification period.

The duration of the Certificate of Compliance may be one or two years.
Substantial compliance at the time of the site visit with all applicable
standards as contained herein will result in an award of a two year
certificate. When there are deficiencies and the provider takes the necessary

by DMH/MR. This decision will be based on the extent, severity, and/or number
of deficiencies. A one year certificate may be issued if any one of the
 following conditions exists:
