This regulation specifies fire and life safety requirements for corridor wall and door openings in healthcare facilities, including restrictions on transfer grilles, allowable louvers and undercuts in auxiliary spaces, size limits for miscellaneous openings in vision panels or doors (varying by sprinkler status), and requirements for fixed window assemblies in corridor walls or doors. Facility operators must ensure corridor openings comply with these specifications based on whether the smoke compartment contains patient sleeping rooms and whether the area is fully sprinklered.
