Exit Signage

This regulation specifies requirements for exit and directional signage in healthcare occupancies, mandating continuous illumination backed by emergency lighting systems in accordance with NFPA 101 Life Safety Code sections 7.10, 18.2.10.1 (new construction), and 19.2.10.1 (existing occupancies). It is a physical plant/life safety standard applicable to the facility's built environment rather than a clinical or operational licensing standard for any specific behavioral health, IDD, ABA, or foster care level of care.
