SUD Treatment and Recovery (Casey's Law involuntary treatment)

Jurisdiction: KY Agency: Kentucky Legislative Research Commission
Plain-English summary

This statute applies the definitions from KRS 202A.011 and the procedural framework of KRS Chapter 202A (involuntary commitment) to Kentucky's Casey's Law involuntary substance use disorder treatment statutes (KRS 222.430–222.437), except where those statutes provide their own definitions or procedures. It is a cross-reference and procedural incorporation provision rather than a facility licensing or operating standards rule. Facility operators are not directly regulated by this section; it governs the legal process for involuntary treatment petitions.
