This Idaho statute governs voluntary admission of alcoholics and drug addicts to approved public treatment facilities, covering both inpatient and outpatient/intensive outpatient levels of care. It establishes who may apply for admission (including provisions for minors and incompetent persons), grants the director authority to determine admissions subject to Board of Health and Welfare rules, and requires the department to assist departing patients with transportation, supportive services, residential placement, or shelter as appropriate.
