Substance Abuse Treatment Act

Delaware's Substance Abuse Treatment Act (16 Del. C. ch. 22) has been fully repealed effective August 31, 2026, pursuant to 85 Del. Laws, c. 461, § 8. The chapter previously governed the licensing and operation of substance abuse treatment facilities, including residential and nonresidential programs, voluntary and involuntary treatment procedures, patient rights, and reporting requirements. As all substantive sections have been repealed or expired, no active compliance obligations remain under this chapter. Operators should consult the successor statutory framework enacted under 85 Del. Laws, c. 461.
