This section grants immunity from civil liability to petitioners, peace officers, emergency facilities, and their agents or employees who act in compliance with Maryland's emergency psychiatric evaluation and involuntary admission procedures under Part IV of Health-General Title 10, Subtitle 6. Facility operators should ensure their staff follow the statutory procedures precisely, as immunity protections apply only when acting in compliance with those provisions.
