10603 YOUTH MOBILE CRISIS INTERVENTION

10603.1 Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention services are services that engage children and youth who may be experiencing a behavioral health crisis, as defined in Chapter 80 of Title 22-A of the DCMR. 

10603.2 Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention services:
 
Are available twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week; and

Include the following covered services: 

Screening for mental health and substance use disorder service needs; 

Administration of acute behavioral health crisis stabilization and psychiatric assessments to children, youth, and their families; 

Developing rapport with the individual; 

Providing support to the individual; and, 

Providing referrals to appropriate resources, including longer-term mental health or substance use disorder rehabilitative services.
 
10603.3 Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention services shall be:

Delivered by a multidisciplinary team consisting of at least two (2) people and must include: 

At least one professional or paraprofessional with expertise in mental health services and the appropriate qualifications to conduct a mobile crisis screening and assessment; and,

At least one member who is face-to-face and in person with the individual. 

Billed in hourly units. 

Delivered in accordance with requirements set forth in Chapter 80 of Title 22-A DCMR.
