9105 METHADONE SERVICES IN OPIOID TREATMENT PROGRAMS
9105.1 Methadone is a medication used in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) of opioid use disorder (OUD).
9105.2 Methadone services in opioid treatment programs shall:
Be delivered in conjunction with counseling/therapy for substance use disorders;
Be reimbursed using a per-service unit, that includes the cost of the medication and medication administration; and
Be delivered in accordance with the American Society of Addiction Medicine service guidelines, and practice guidelines issued by DBH.
9105.3 Methadone services described in this section shall be delivered in facilities that:
Meet the requirements for Opioid Treatment Programs in 42 CFR Part 8; and
Are certified by DBH as an Opioid Treatment Program.
9105.4 An individual may receive take-home doses of methadone as determined by clinical indications for the individual. The number of take-home doses may not exceed the limits established by federal regulations.
