This regulation governs Medicaid billing and authorization requirements for Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST), an intensive community-based program for youth ages 12–17 at risk of out-of-home placement. MST must be billed in 15-minute units, requires prior authorization, and must be delivered in accordance with Title 22-A DCMR Chapter 34. MST may not be billed on the same day as certain other services including Counseling/Therapy, IDT, Rehabilitation Day services, CBI, or FFT.
View official source5219 MULTI-SYSTEMIC THERAPY 5219.1 Multi-systemic Therapy (MST) is an intensive program for youth ages twelve (12) to seventeen (17) experiencing out of home placement. 5219.2 Multi-systemic Therapy shall: Be billed in fifteen (15) minute units; Require prior authorization; and Be delivered in accordance with the requirements set forth in Chapter 34 of Title 22-A DCMR. 5219.3 MST shall not be billed on the same day as Counseling/Therapy, IDT, Rehabilitation Day services, CBI, or FFT.
