This section states the objective of psychiatric outpatient clinic treatment services in Pennsylvania: to facilitate individual recovery, improve functioning, enhance resiliency and well-being, promote independence, and maintain optimal community functioning consistent with individual preferences. The service is available to individuals with both short-term and long-term treatment needs. Operators of psychiatric outpatient clinics should understand this objective as the guiding purpose underlying all other requirements in Chapter 5200.
