This chapter establishes licensing and approval standards for partial hospitalization facilities in Pennsylvania, covering both free-standing facilities and those operating within health care facilities. It applies to private, nonprofit, or for-profit facilities that provide mental health examination, diagnosis, care, and treatment to mentally ill or emotionally disturbed individuals for sessions exceeding 3 hours but less than 24 hours, and that participate in the public mental health program. Operators must comply with standards set under the Public Welfare Code, the Health Care Facilities Act, and the Mental Health Procedures Act.

Code § 5210.2 - Scope State Regulations Compare (a) This chapter provides standards for the licensing of free-standing partial hospitalization facilities under 1021 of the Public Welfare Code ( 62 P. S. § 1021 ), and approval of partial hospitalization facilities which are part of a health care facility as defined in section 802.1 of the Health Care Facilities Act ( 35 P.
