When a private psychiatric hospital lacks national accreditation or certification, the Department applies JCAH standards in effect at the time of licensure application or re-application, along with applicable provisions of Chapter 5100 on mental health procedures. Facility operators must ensure compliance with these standards as a condition of obtaining or renewing their license.
