This regulation allows Pennsylvania to accept JCAH accreditation, Medicare certification, or other Secretary-designated national accreditation as sufficient for licensure of psychiatric hospitals, provided the hospital also complies with Chapter 5100 (mental health procedures). Facility operators must ensure they hold an approved national accreditation and meet the applicable mental health procedures requirements to satisfy state licensure obligations.
