This section establishes exceptions for freestanding intake, evaluation, and referral projects operating under Pennsylvania's substance use disorder treatment licensing chapter (Chapter 709), exempting them from certain treatment/rehabilitation management and termination notification requirements. Operators of such projects need not comply with the specified general standards that apply to other licensed treatment activities. The exceptions are narrow and specific to the intake/evaluation/referral function within the broader SUD outpatient and residential licensing framework.
