This rule establishes the applicability of minimum standards for detoxification programs with five or more beds licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services. The standards apply to standalone licensed detox programs but do not apply to detoxification programs located in hospitals licensed under Minn. Stat. §§ 144.50–144.581, unless those hospital-based programs voluntarily opt into licensure under this chapter, in which case they are deemed compliant with the medications section.

Detoxification programs located in hospitals licensed under Minnesota Statutes, sections 144.50 to 144.581 that choose to be licensed under parts 9530.6510 to 9530.6590 , are considered in compliance with part 9530.6555 .
