This regulation governs Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs) licensed under Kansas Article 60 that provide alcohol or substance abuse services, whether directly or through a contractor. Such services must be separately licensed or certified by the department, delivered by appropriately trained or qualified staff, and administered under written policies and procedures adopted by the licensee. It sets operating standards for SUD services offered within the CMHC context.

Alcohol and substance abuse services. If a licensee provides, directly or through a contractor, specialized alcohol or substance abuse services, these services shall meet the following conditions: (a) Be separately licensed or certified as required by the department; (b) be provided by appropriately trained or professionally qualified staff; and (c) be administered in accordance with written policies and procedures adopted by the licensee.
